Policy on the use of cookies

The site is published by the MedPAN Association, an association under the law of 1 July 1901, registered on 31 March 2016 with the Prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhône, whose registered office is located at 58, Quai du Port, 13002 Marseille.

Browsing the https://www.medmpaforum.org website (hereinafter the “Site”) may result in the installation of cookies on the browser of the terminal of the users of the Site (hereinafter referred to as the “Users” in the plural and the “User” in the singular)

The use of cookies on the Site is done, where applicable, in strict compliance with the provisions of the Site’s Privacy Policy. 

The purpose of this policy is to provide the User with the information on the cookies that may be deposited on his terminal when he visits the Site, either by MedPAN and SPA/RAC or by third parties, as well as the means allowing him to delete or refuse the deposit of cookies on his terminal.

The User can manage his cookies according to the indications provided in Article 5 “SET COOKIES”.

WHAT IS A COOKIE?

A cookie (and any other tracer such as a tag, beacon or pixel) is a small file which does not allow the User to be identified, but nevertheless records information relating to the navigation of a terminal on a website. Like other tracking technologies, the purpose of cookies is to collect information relating to navigation on the sites and to provide personalised services to users.

A terminal is any computer, smartphone, tablet or video game console connected to the Internet.

WHAT PURPOSES ARE COOKIES USED FOR?

In short, cookies and other tracers allow MedPAN or SPA/RAC, during the period of validity or recording of the cookie, to identify the terminal during the next visits of the User.

The data thus obtained are intended to

  • Allow access and navigation on the Site;
  • Authenticate and identify Users on the Site in order to allow them to access their “My space” or to remain connected;
  • To establish audience and traffic measurements for the Site in order to evaluate its performance and visit statistics;
  • To ensure and evaluate the security of the Site by detecting incidents, intrusion attempts or other malfunctions;
  • To meet the legal obligations imposed on MedPAN and SPA/RAC.

WHICH COOKIES ARE USED ON THE SITE?

Browsing on the Site leads to the deposit of cookies that are necessary for the functioning of the Site and cookies that are not necessary for the functioning of the Site.

In addition, some cookies are issued directly by MedPAN and SPA/RAC and its service providers and other cookies, which are not necessary for the functioning of the Website, may be issued by third-party companies.

3.1 Cookies necessary for the functioning of the website

MedPAN and SPA/RAC, and where applicable its service providers, place cookies on the website that are essential for navigation on the website. These cookies allow the use of the main functionalities of the Site and allow access to the secured areas of the Site.  Consequently, they are permanently activated.

3.2 Cookies not necessary for navigation on the Site

Other cookies not strictly necessary for browsing the Site are described below: 

3.2.1 Video sharing services cookies

The video-sharing services enable the Site to be enriched with multimedia content and to increase its visibility.

3.2.2 IP address

In addition, MedPAN and SPA/RAC use the User’s IP address to determine the city from which the User is connecting. The IP address is immediately anonymised after use so that MedPAN and SPA/RAC can in no way identify a natural person through it.

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

Cookies that are strictly necessary for navigation on the Site do not require the User’s consent.

However, the User may oppose them and delete them by following the instructions given in the “SETTINGS” section below. Nevertheless, navigation on the Site may not be optimal, or even impossible, if certain necessary cookies are refused.

On the other hand, cookies that are not strictly necessary for navigation on the Site require the User’s consent. As long as the User has not given his consent, these cookies cannot be deposited or read on his terminal. The User is informed of this by the appearance of a banner.

Cookies that are not strictly necessary can be deactivated by following the instructions given in the “SET COOKIES” section below.

The fact of refusing the implementation of cookies that are not necessary for navigation on the Site or of deleting them has no effect on navigation on the Site. However, this may prevent MedPANand SPA/RAC from ensuring an optimal quality of the Site.

The User may at any time withdraw his consent to the deposit or reading of certain cookies on his terminal.

This consent is valid for six (6) months. At the end of this period, the User’s consent will be sought again.

Not all cookies are kept for the same length of time on the User’s terminal. The User can consult the duration of conservation of the said cookies in Article 3 of the present policy. Once the retention period has expired, the cookies are permanently deleted. This period is in no way extended in the event of a new visit to the Site.

The personal data collected is not transferred to third parties or used for purposes other than those set out in this Policy and in the Site’s Privacy Policy.

5.2 Setting of the User’s smartphone

Warning:

  • Taking into account the User’s consent is based on a cookie. Thus, if the User deletes all the cookies stored in their  terminal through their internet browser, MedPAN and SPA/RAC will be unable to know which option the User has chosen;
  • If the User systematically refuses the installation of all cookies on their terminal, including those strictly necessary for navigation, via the “refuse all cookies” options, their navigation on the Site may be limited and access to certain services may be impossible.
